M53 traffic at ‘standstill’ due to car fire
TRAFFIC is at standstill on the M53 motorway due to a car on fire.
Traffic is being held on the M53 Southbound from J4 A5137 Brimstage Road, Bebington to Junction 5 A41 New Chester Road, Eastham.
Drivers are told to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "One car was well alight on the hard shoulder. It has now been extinguished.
"We had two fire engines on scene from 9.24am until 10.04am.
"The incident has been left with Highways."
