TRIBUTES are being paid to a 49-year-old Wirral man who was found dead in Irby woodlands yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Harrock Wood on Thingwall Road at around 3pm.
His next of kin have been informed and his death is not thought to be suspicious.
Tributes are being left on social media.
Elaine Orman said: "Poor man - thoughts go out to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace."
Marie Clark wrote: "God bless him and his family. So very sad."
Julia Hayden said: "Such a shock, absolutely tragic.
"Always had a smile and so friendly, great guy. Sending thoughts an love to his family and friends."
Jo Barnes said: "Bless him and his family."
Lian Keenan wrote: "I'm in shock can't believe it. Rest In Peace - thinking of his wife and kids at this sad time."
A spokesman from Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm officers were called to an unexplained death at Harrock Wood, Irby.
"Paramedics attended and a man aged 49 was pronounced dead at the scene.
"He has been formally identified.
"A post mortem will be held to determine the cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious."
