PLANS to build flats on the site of a former pub in Bidston have been approved.
Councillors voted in favour Verum Victim Healthcare's plan for 26 one-bedroomed flats on the site of the former Corsair pub during a meeting of Wirral planning committee on Thursday night.
The planned development includes communal living, dining and leisure spaces, staff facilities and car parking area.
The land is currently derelict and located on the corner of Bidston Village Road and Fender Way and lies on the edge of the Bidston Village Conservation Area.
Those against the three-storey development felt it would be out of place in the village. There were also concerns over parking, with fears that it would result in traffic congestion.
