A WIRRAL man remains in hospital after he was assaulted outside a Wallasey pub this afternoon.
Police were called to Trafalgar Road just after 2pm today, Tuesday, to a report a man had been assaulted outside The Nelson Hotel public house.
Patrols and paramedics attended and found a man, believed to be in his 40s, with facial injuries including a cut above his eye.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment where he remains in a stable condition.
A search of the area was undertaken.
Enquiries are on-going in the area and officers are retrieving CCTV footage.
The offender was described as white, 5ft 4in, in his 20s with a stocky build and blonde hair.
He was wearing black tracksuit pants and is believed to have made off on a bicycle in the direction of Serpentine Road.
