A lack of faith

It was indeed a sad day for not only the congregation and parishioners of Ss Peter and Paul in New Brighton when it closed its doors for the last time, but for all of us who believe in democracy.

The church authorities appear to have taken little notice of the congregation apart from their money and in fact it seems that they are more interested in finances than the interests of their people or the teachings of their religious faith.

If they want to avoid a further decline in worshippers they should act to restore the trust of the faithful and start by planning to reopen New Brighton`s landmark church of Ss Peter and Paul, and sooner rather than later.
